Sara & Sam Schoffer Holocaust Resource Center – Stockton University: J’ai survécu (I Survived) Raymond J. Polak’s Holocaust Story
November 12 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
Please join us for a powerful and thought-provoking conversation with Raymond Polak, survivor of the Holocaust, who will offer a firsthand account of the horrors of the Shoah and the enduring human spirit. Raymond was born in 1943 to Henni Elter and Artur Schnierer in Limoges, France. He will share his mother’s harrowing escape from the Gurs internment camp and his father’s tragic fate as a resistance fighter during World War II. Life after the war was not easy, but Henni worked hard to rebuild her family’s life. In 1953, Raymond immigrated to the United States with his mother, stepfather, and younger brother and has lived in southern New Jersey for over 46 years. Together, we can ensure the voices of Holocaust survivors are heard and that their testimony is never forgotten.
THIS EVENT IS FREE & OPEN TO THE PUBLIC – RSVP REQUIRED
