Join Thoughts from the Bookshelf Facilitator Pat Goldstein and Village Community Specialist Tina Serota for a book club gathering. This month, the group will discuss the New York Times best-selling novel, Necessary Trouble: Growing Up at Mid-Century, by Drew Gilpin Faust. The coming of age book focuses on a conservative Southern family during the mid-20^th century. The author, a former President of Harvard University, grapples with the contradictions of her privileged upbringing against the backdrop of racial segregation, evolving social norms, and becoming an activist for Civil Rights.
