Adult Education opportunity at Temple Beth Shalom on Sunday, August 16, 2020, at 12:30 PM via Zoom:
“Please join us for a true Adult Education treat — a special program presented by Rabbi Lance Sussman, Ph.D., Rabbi of the Reform Congregation of Knesseth Israel in Elkins Park, PA, and Chairman of the Board of Governors of Gratz College.

Rabbi Sussman will be presenting on “How Lox Became Jewish”:
American Jews have their own unique food culture based primarily on the traditional Jewish foods of Eastern Europe. American Jews began creating their own favorite dishes such as “Lox & Bagels”, “Jewish Cheesecake” and the not so traditional “Reuben Sandwich”. At the forefront of these innovations was the Jewish Deli of the 1920’s. Come and learn “How Lox Became Jewish!”

Though this event is free and open to the community, if you plan to join us, we ask that you RSVP to the Office at [email protected] or via phone at (609) 266-0403 so that we can plan our preparations accordingly, including sending you the Zoom information.
